Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend required
Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours weekly
Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Must-Have: EPIC experience is highly preferred, BSN required
Job Description:
- Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care. - Apply critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. - Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate. - Educate patients and caregivers on their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. - Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing. - Demonstrate allocation of material resources effectively. - Model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through various actions like Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Patient Collaboration. - Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and family. - Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care. - Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. - Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional, evidence-based procedures. - Contribute to quality and safety practices and required compliance measures. - Perform charge nurse duties as assigned. - Coordinate with nursing management to ensure supplies are appropriately utilized and inventory is sufficient for patient care. - Demonstrate patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care in terms of equipment, staff, supplies, and other resources. - Document in an accurate and thorough manner in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care. - Facilitate patient throughput on shift basis. - Advance clinical competence in nursing practice from novice to expert. - Encourage and demonstrate a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, and life-long learning.
