QA/QC Inspector-Fabrication

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently seeking a QA/QC Inspector/Certified Welding Inspector to assist in the Wood fabrication shop in Bloomfield, NM. Candidate must live in a 50 mile radius of facility. The right candidate would have the following certifications:
AWS-CWI
NDT Level II in Magnetic Particle (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) methods
ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification (S1)
Key Responsibilities Structural steel inspection for fabrication shop Quality assurance inspection of materials related to welding, non-destructive testing, painting, fabrication The CWI and NDT Level II candidate shall be capable of and responsible for understanding and interpreting codes, standards, specifications, and procedures in order to perform QA functions and NDT inspections to particular test methods as required Shall have sufficient practical Quality Control / Quality Assurance background in applicable materials, fabrication and / or product technology and can assist the design engineer in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available Shall have sufficient training hours and experience in the NDT methods listed below and can demonstrate NDT proficiency by passing NDT Level II examinations administered by authorized Wood NDT Level III personnel.
Skills / Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), NDT Level II in Magnetic Particle (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) methods and ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification (S1) 5 to 10 years inspection/construction experience Experience with building inspection and AWS D1.1 specifications is a must Fully capable of rigorous physical activity Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, technical writing skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required
