JOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Data Visualization Designer is a core creative member of the Data Visualization Team, a multidisciplinary collaboration that specializes in data visualization and offers expertise in data mining, information design, and visual storytelling. The Sr. Data Designer is a creative powerhouse, consistently delivering captivating data visualizations that grab the eye and command attention. With a high level of craft, the Sr. Data Designer provides creative inspiration and guidance for more junior members of the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Data Visualization | Create visual content, including infographics, maps, charts and graphs - to transform health data into digestible compelling visuals and experiences.
Design Execution| Create, revise, and optimize the data design for the customer experience.
Cross Functional Collaboration | Collaborate with teams across the IPG Health network and support strategic, data-driven storytelling across brands.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Visualization • Partner with Data Specialists to conceptualize and create data-driven visual content, including infographics, maps, charts and graphs, to facilitate greater customer understanding and engagement with brand. • Provide an expansive creative perspective, ensuring that the initial sketch/structure of the data lend themselves well to subsequent creative ideation/execution. • Proactively explore new and innovative visual approaches and techniques for data storytelling. • Present ideas and concepts to agency brand teams and clients.
Design Execution • Can be relied upon to craft information design to deliver captivating visual representations of data. • Consistently deliver unexpected or innovative creative executions that surprise and delight core brand team and clients, even with continued rounds of revisions. • Provide solid recommendations to optimize data visualizations for their respective mediums (print, digital [desktop/mobile] or experiential) (through direct execution or in consultation with core brand teams). • Uncover ingenious solutions to the numerous restrictions imposed by medical/legal/regulatory guidance. • Constantly monitor the latest creative and digital trends to share with team and implement as best practices.
Cross Functional Collaboration • Collaborate with teams across the IPG Health network and support strategic, data-driven storytelling across brands. • Partner with our design / brand production team for miscellaneous digital assets and support.
EDUCATION:
DEGREE/DIPLOMA AREA OF STUDY REQUIRED/PREFERRED
Bachelor's Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts Graphic Design, Art, or equivalent experience Required
EXPERIENCE:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AREA OF EXPERTISE REQUIRED/PREFERRED
5+ Years Experience as a designer, focusing on data visualization and information graphics required
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Strong infographics and data visualization development ability: distilling content, and developing story flow and information hierarchy. • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator) as well as ability to work in PowerPoint. • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) or equivalent platform preferred.

$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually
The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
