Our Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, orchestrating containerized applications, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure.
Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Virginia is $110-$120k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters and associated resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. CI/CD Pipeline Development: Create, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to automate the build, test, and deployment processes for containerized applications. Container Orchestration: Oversee the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications in AKS, ensuring high availability and performance. Monitoring and Logging: Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and other monitoring tools to track application health and performance. Security Implementation: Enforce security best practices in AKS, including network policies, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and integration with Azure Active Directory. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with development teams to define deployment strategies, troubleshoot issues, and support application performance. Database Management: Utilize SQL skills to manage and interact with databases as part of the application deployment process. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, best practices, and architectures; provide training and support to team members.
Requirements: You are: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 10+ years of Azure DevOps Engineering experience Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on Azure and Kubernetes. Strong knowledge of Azure services, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure DevOps. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or JavaScript. Solid experience with SQL for database management and queries. Experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates). Understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments (VNETs, Subnets, NSGs). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
It would be great if you also had: Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
