Location Description:

Overview:

The Safety and Security Team Member is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property, guests, and employees. The Team Member reports to the Director of Safety and Security on all safety and security concerns and/or issues. Along with the Safety and Security Supervisor, they will help implement actions to prevent issues from occurring or reoccurring in the future through employee training and action.

  1. Acts with a sense of urgency to provide safety and security to guests and employees.
  2. Validates staff processes and procedures are adhered to by staff to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and security concerns.
  3. Respond in a timely manner to all requests when dispatched to an area for safety and security concerns.
  4. Identify and correct any unsafe conditions daily.
  5. Promotes a safe environment for employees and guests.
  1. Create detailed, accurate reports on safety and security incidents.
  2. Maintain effective communication with other team members and leaders.
  1. Identify areas of opportunity regarding guest and employee theft or dishonesty and partners with the Director of Safety and Security to investigate.
  2. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  3. Conducts tasks assigned by the Director of Safety and Security and/or Safety and Security Supervisor including but not limited to perimeter reviews, safety equipment operations, key control, and employee/guest safety.
  4. Ability to address conflict and stressful situations with professionalism, courtesy, and empathy.
  5. Willingness to work day, mid, overnight, and holidays shifts as directed.
  6. Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests.
  7. Conduct Routine inspections of Safety equipment to include but not limited to Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kits, Emergency Lighting, etc.
  8. Assist department heads to ensure Safety Data Sheets and information is up to date.
  9. Assist in conducting routine safety drills such as fire, power failure and weather incidents.
  10. Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
  11. Ability to create and maintain a positive image of the Staff and property.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist employees, guests, and vendors as necessary.
  2. Perform any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to work with guests to resolve complaints in a positive manner.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts.
  • Previous law enforcement, safety, loss prevention, or security experience preferred.
  • Currently or able to become First Aid and CPR Certified
