As a fiscal intermediary, GT Independence helps thousands of people, enrolled in public health programs across the country, self-direct their services by managing the complex paperwork that comes with finding and hiring their own support staff. Reporting directly to the Director of Strategy, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work closely with our leadership team and partners to champion our brand across channels, craft and disseminate messages to various audiences and uphold and promote adherence to our mission and values. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who has a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively; manage multiple projects, demands, and deadlines; and communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

•External Customer and Stakeholder Communications: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop essential email and print communications. Create engaging and informative content for our employee newsletter, fostering internal communication and a sense of community. Develop thought leadership articles and white papers that not only highlight our expertise and innovations but also advance our mission and drive meaningful progress in our field. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage the drafting, review, approval, and finalization of copy; secure translations in required languages; oversee email list management; and schedule distribution or printing.

•Resource, Brand, Conference and Event Materials: Maintain existing educational and training resources and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create new materials. Help maintain a central repository of materials for internal access as well as limited external access. Provide light design support creating presentations, signage, flyers, emails, etc. for conferences, hiring events, enrollment town halls, stakeholder meetings and communications, etc.

•Intranet and Website Updates: Manage the company's intranet site, collaborating with the Director of Strategy and internal teams to ensure it's a robust and up-to-date resource for employees. Support the development of website content for new states, programs, rules, and updates. Review content on a regular basis to ensure continued relevance and compliance with any program or other regulations. Collaborate with external vendors on SEO and web maintenance and development projects.

•Social Media and Brand-building Campaigns: Partner with external communications partners to create and post engaging content for brand platforms. Act as the primary contact for customer inquiries or issues on social media. Provide necessary communications support for brand-building campaigns, such as contests, fundraising opportunities, or overall self-direction awareness efforts.

Essential Qualities, Skills, and Competencies:

•Dedication to and belief in the mission of GT Independence

•Skilled communicator and project manager who can communicate clearly and compellingly while shepherding projects from inception to completion

•Exceptional writing skills, a creative mindset, and the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences

•Understanding of marketing and communications practices and principles, including corporate and internal communications

•Knowledge of branding, advocacy and social media is a plus

•Adept at building constructive relationships and communicating with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities

•Understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) fundamentals to deliver accessible communications is preferred

•Adaptable and flexible in dynamic environments, with experience managing multiple projects concurrently

•Committed to in-person work 2-3 days per week or more at GT Independence headquarters in Sturgis, MI; strong remote candidates may be considered

Education and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field

•At least 3 years of marketing experience, including content creation and writing, preference for for-profit and cause marketing experience

•Minimum of 2-3 years of project management experience

•Some experience and skills in graphic design are preferred

•Experience with Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Constant Contact are preferred
