Procurement Manager

Position Overview:
The Procurement Manager will take charge of planning, sourcing, and procuring the necessary equipment, materials, and subcontractor services for utility distribution, substation, and solar projects. You will be responsible for developing strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality products and services.
Key Responsibilities: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing and quality standards. Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, contract compliance, and quality, driving continuous improvements. Collaborate with Project Managers and Estimators to plan procurement activities that align with project timelines. Manage the selection, evaluation, and oversight of vendors. Identify and mitigate risks related to vendors and project procurement. Partner with Operations and Project Managers to resolve any quality issues and ensure conformance. Participate in project planning meetings and site inspections. Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and procedures, and assist in refining procurement strategies and best practices. Oversee procurement processes for large-scale facilities, including federal and state contracts, with experience in high voltage and renewable projects preferred.
Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in procurement management, preferably in electrical utility, substation, or solar industries. Strong negotiation skills, with extensive experience managing subcontracts and purchase orders. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint; experience with construction management software is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders. Deep market knowledge with a focus on large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Experience in medium/high voltage transmission, substation construction, and renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
