Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Contracts Manager to join our Project Delivery team. This individual will oversee the entire contracting process, from market analysis and vendor selection to RFP issuance and contract award. The Contracts Manager will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings while maximizing the value of our procurement activities.
This role requires a results-driven professional with strong negotiation skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a collaborative mindset to build and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
Request for Proposal (RFP) Process :
Lead the creation and coordination of RFP documents, working closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, legal, finance, project management, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate submissions. Analyze RFP requirements to ensure clarity of project deliverables and specifications. Facilitate pre-RFP meetings to ensure bid documents are precise and comprehensive. Distribute bid packages to contractors and manage the flow of information.
Bid Review and Analysis :
Oversee the internal review process for received bids, ensuring all documents meet the project requirements. Conduct detailed bid analyses to assess risks, pricing, schedules, and other key factors. Lead bid review meetings, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Present a thorough bid analysis to leadership, including recommendations for contract award.
Contract Negotiation and Management :
Guide internal stakeholders in the review of contract documents to ensure accuracy and alignment with company objectives. Lead strategic negotiations with contractors and vendors, making critical commercial decisions. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to align contracting strategies with broader company goals. Finalize contract documents and prepare presentations for leadership approval.
Vendor Prequalification and Relationship Management :
Manage communications with vendors and business partners throughout the procurement process. Identify and onboard new vendors, reviewing prequalification documents and ensuring compliance with company standards.
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Logistics, or a related field. At least 4 years of experience in solar or a related industry. In-depth knowledge of EPC contracts, particularly in utility-scale solar projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Skills & Experience : Strong background in the solar industry, with a good understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction practices. Proven experience in vendor negotiations and contract management. Exceptional communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Highly organized, with strong time management abilities and attention to detail. Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both independently and within a team. Strong decision-making ability and ability to balance competing priorities effectively. Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on understanding and addressing client needs.
