Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mainframe Cobol Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe development and support, particularly with COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processes. This role involves both development and testing environment support, as well as L2 production support, utilizing Broadcom tools such as CA7 and Endevor.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Alpharetta, GA is $105k - $115K/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
Provide support for development and testing environments to ensure smooth application deployment.
Manage L2 production support for mainframe applications, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions.
Utilize Broadcom tools (CA7, Endevor, etc.) for job scheduling, version control, and application management.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
Conduct code reviews and participate in system testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Document technical specifications and maintain detailed records of system configurations and changes.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in mainframe technologies and tools.
Requirements:
You are:
10+ years of experience in mainframe development and support.
Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processing.
Experience with Broadcom tools such as CA7 and Endevor is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of core acquiring/processing business domains, including client settlement, interchange settlement, clearing/funding, billing, and disputes.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
