Requirements Position: Construction Litigation Associate (3 Years) - Portland, Oregon Direct Counsel is seeking a Construction Litigation Associate to join a prestigious regional law firm known for its commitment to client success and collaborative culture. The firm specializes in serving businesses across industries such as Technology, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Consumer Products, Manufacturing and Retail, Natural Resources, Real Estate and Construction, Ports and Maritime, and Indian Country and Alaska Native Corporations. Location: Portland, Oregon Position Overview: The firm is looking for an experienced associate attorney to join its construction litigation team in Portland. This role involves a combination of transactional and litigation work, with opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic and supportive environment. Qualifications: 3 years of experience in transactional and/or litigation construction law, including: Drafting pleadings, participating in discovery, and motion practice. Assisting in arbitration and trial. Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating construction contracts, including AIA forms. Familiarity with lien laws, bid protests, delay and impact claims, and governmental contracts. General litigation experience may be considered if the candidate is committed to learning construction law. Strong academic credentials and professional references. Excellent research, analysis, writing, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage projects with independence while working in a team-oriented setting. Strong client service ethics and an interest in business development in the real estate/construction sector. Admission to the Oregon State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity (required). Compensation and Benefits: Salary range: $155,000-$200,000, depending on experience and skills. Eligible for discretionary merit bonuses. Work Environment: In-office work is required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with flexibility for remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
