Position Title Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor: Pharmaceutical Sciences Job Type Faculty Position Information The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, 12- month faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences beginning July 1, 2022. UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America's most beautiful campuses. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions currently consists of the following departments: Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Rehabilitation Services. The UMES School of Pharmacy has been approved by the Maryland Board of Regents and obtained full Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accreditation in 2013. Our graduate program (M.S. or PhD) has been approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) in 2015 . Responsibilities Teach in the highly innovative, integrated, and team-taught Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) curriculum. Contribute to the development of the graduate program (M.S. and PhD) in pharmaceutical sciences. Establish an independent research program. Obtain extramural funding. Advance the service missions of the School and University to meet community needs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Classification 29-0000 Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations Required Qualifications MD/PhD, PhD, or MD in related fields of biomedical pharmaceutical sciences, especially pharmacology, cancer biology, stem cell biology, drug/gene delivery, biomaterials, tissue engineering, etc. Three years of postdoctoral/research experience. Mentoring experience. Must demonstrate potential to procure extramural funding and develop an independent research program. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with prior success in federal funding from NIH or NSF. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Communication skills (verbal, written) Efficient organization and planning skills. Ability to develop an independent research.
