As ex-computer scientists, physicists, and quants, we felt firsthand how the lack of tools to prepare quality training data was impeding the progress of building AI. AI today is what the early days of computing or the internet were like, where the potential of the technology is clear, but the tools and processes surrounding it are still primitive, preventing the next generation of applications. This is why we started Encord.

We are a talented and ambitious team of 60, working at the cutting edge of multimodal and visual AI, backed by top investors, including CRV and Y Combinator, leading industry executives like Luc Vincent, former VP of AI at Meta, and other top Bay Area leaders in AI. We are one the fastest growing companies in our space, and consistently rated as the best product in the market by our customers. We have big plans ahead and are looking for our first AI/ML Developer Evangelist to join us in building our Growth team.

The Role

You will be Encord’s first ML Developer Evangelist hire. As an AI/ML Developer Evangelist, you will be one of the leading faces of Encord’s brand in developer communities online. Your work will span across awareness, acquisition, and retention to support our rapid growth. Your mission will be to empower ML developers to get started on Encord with access to tools and resources. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Advocating for Encord within developer communities, fostering relationships with developers, and promoting the adoption of best practices.
  2. Leading research and content development on the latest updates and trends in AI/ML including foundational model releases.
  3. Creating engaging technical content, and organizing hands-on webinars to assist developers in developing performant models.
  4. Showcasing best practices in data curation, data labeling, label validation, and model evaluation.
  5. Leading the Encord community and responsibility for the structure of and engagement within the community.
  6. Working closely with internal teams to gather feedback and insights from the developers, contributing to the enhancement of Encord’s products and services.

About You

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • You have previous experience working as a Machine Learning or Computer Vision Engineer or building machine learning models.
  • You're a self-starter who wants to forge your own career path.
  • You're confident in being the engineering face of a rapidly growing business.
  • You have a desire to grow your own personal brand within AI/ML communities.
