Job Title: Investment Funds Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Investment Funds Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of fund formation experience to join a dynamic team. This role involves providing guidance on forming, structuring, operating, and regulating private investment funds, and working closely with clients and colleagues in a collaborative and supportive environment. Duties:

1. Advise clients on forming, structuring, operating, and financing various private investment funds, including private equity, hedge funds, credit, venture, and crypto-focused funds.
2. Draft, revise, and negotiate fund-related legal documents.
3. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of fund launches and closings.
4. Assist with ongoing federal and state regulatory filings and compliance obligations for Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs) and exempt reporting advisers.

Requirements:

1. 2-4 years of experience in fund formation.
2. Strong understanding and familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
3. Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
4. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
5. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team setting.
6. Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.

Education:

1. JD from an accredited law school with top academic credentials.

Certifications:

1. Must be admitted to the Illinois Bar.
