Job Summary

As Veo’s Senior Manager, Accounting, you will drive the month-end financial close, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages. Reporting directly into Veo’s CFO, you will lead process improvement efforts towards automation, shortening close time, and implementing other efficiencies to drive financial excellence to support Veo’s growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Close: Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting schedules, ensuring accuracy, as well as supporting FP&A with performing variance analyses.
  • Accounting Excellence: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax reporting processes, and other accounting functions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in processes, policies, and systems to increase efficiency and scalability, while maintaining and improving internal controls.
  • Collaborate: Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to obtain relevant contextual information and support cross-functional company initiatives.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Drive the implementation of accounting policies and procedures and adhere to controls to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for in accordance with GAAP principles.
  • Leadership: Collaborate with leaders and assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures including supporting documentation.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Strategic Thinking: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Start-Up Experience: Prior experience in a start-up environment, with proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hybrid Role: Must currently reside or be relocatable to a commutable distance from our Santa Monica Headquarters. The role will require 3 days a week, at minimum, in office.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive Compensation Package that consists of a base salary range of $120,000 - $135,000 + Annual Performance Bonus + Equity (Stock Options) + Full Range of Benefits.
  • Our total compensation package for this role, including bonus potential, ranges from $120,000 - $145,000.
