buildings that improve the world! We are currently seeking a senior level Traffic Engineer to join our growing Transportation Practice across multiple offices. Our senior traffic engineers lead projects and teams working on exciting projects such as adaptive signal systems, innovative intersections and interchanges, TSMO/ATMS, managed lanes, and complete street projects that improve mobility for all transportation modes. Join our team and help us grow our practice while working in a team environment to develop and implement the types of projects that allow you to grow your project management skills! Responsibilities: Our Traffic Department works on high-profile and complex projects for state and local departments of transportation throughout North America with a concentration on the eastern US. Our traffic work is challenging, interesting, and in many cases, on the leading edge of traffic engineering applications in the industry. Our senior level traffic engineers lead a wide variety of analysis, modeling, design, and planning tasks. Project assignments can range from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects, as well as innovative multimodal transportation plans for multimodal transportation projects. Assignments can include: traffic safety/operations studies; development or application of Synchro, SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, and VISUM models; and design of traffic control devices (traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting); work zone traffic control; ITS and CAV projects. Position may include working at client site(s) and infrequent travel. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required; Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is desired Professional Engineer license required Certified PTOE More than 10 years of progressive experience in traffic and/or ITS engineering Experience using traffic guidelines, such as AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual and Highway Safety Manual Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Experience with any of the following: HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic TransModeler, VISSIM, and/or VISUM Design of traffic control devices (traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting) and work zone traffic control ITS and CAV projects Proficiency working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Exceptional communication, technical writing, and organizational skills. Positive attitude and willingness to work independently and cooperatively with others Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time accordingly.
