Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems - Project Engineering with a focus on Change Management and Execution, to join our F-35 team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Project Engineering organization. This position requires on-site support in Redondo Beach, CA with the occasional travel (approximately 10%).

In this role, the successful candidate will join a team to plan and execute production integration startup activities; maintain technical integration, cost, and schedule for establishing a new F-35 production facility. Strong communication skills are necessary to coordinate with the customer as well as the internal Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to align overall vision and goal for rapid development. The Project Engineering candidate will drive down critical issues including, but not limited to, production startup integration between Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Production to completion and present status and issues to Program Leadership. The environment is very dynamic and requires an individual to find solutions and collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum of 8 years of experience; OR 6 years’ experience with a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.

Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Technical knowledge and practice in design, analysis, cross-functional integration, or on-aircraft experience with Subsystems, Composites, or Metallic Structures.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Experience in managing the implementation of multi-disciplinary projects and stakeholders.

Experience with creating and maintaining an Internal Master Schedule.

Customer facing and leadership facing presentation experience.

Ability to distill complex issues to convey to a wide audience.

Experience with leading Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).

Experience with Configuration Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Government Contracts experience.

Team leadership and technical delegation experience highly desired.

Experience with Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing and Test documentation.

Familiarity with Cost/schedule/budget concepts and tools (EVMS, SAP, etc.).

Experience with production rate vehicle development.
