Role Summary
In this role, you will be a member of Rivian's Technical Program Management team, responsible for driving all software related aspects for the Future Programs team, internally and external. You will partner with product, hardware and software engineering, and other cross-functional teams to drive software development in hardware products as well as integrate them into Rivian's client and backend systems. This role will require deep collaboration from an end-to-end software perspective, and aligning it to Rivian's hardware product roadmap.
Responsibilities
As a Technical Program Manager at Rivian, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary software projects from start to finish, managing multiple critical software workstreams from embedded software development, connectivity and multimedia. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You will work with a team of software and hardware engineers on multiple high-visibility consumer-facing products. Drive the planning and implementation of program and features with the cross-functional teams to hit roadmap goals, tracking progress, analyzing risks, resolve execution issues and communicating status. Develop and manage program schedules, technical issues, release management and resource needs with engineering and cross-functional teams. Manage communication of progress/status with stakeholders and leadership in various locations and time zones, own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams. Implement process improvements to streamline product development and continuously manage risks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field. 10+ years of experience in program management, product management, engineering or similar cross-functional role. Track record of launching consumer electronics, IoT devices and/or other similar hardware/software devices from concept to production. Bonus points if you've built plans and workflows in a new organization on 1 st
generation products. Experience managing embedded device hardware/software releases and integration into back-end software systems. Proficiency with bug/task tracking software tools, especially Jira. Ability to adapt processes to the team composition and be time-efficient with planning and status reporting. Passion for and demonstrated proficiency in working with cross-functional hardware & software teams. Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $213,000-$266,300 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
