As our Lending Manager, your major responsibilities will include: Managing the day-to-day operation of the consumer and real estate lending functions to ensure compliance with applicable lending regulations and established credit union policies and guidelines. Establishing processes, control and oversight to achieve and sustain lending operations efficiency and effectiveness. Reviewing loan applications periodically; monitoring loan decisions over the underwriters’ limit; assisting underwriters with challenging situations; randomly reviewing loans for underwriting consistency; and underwriting employee loan requests. Providing support and guidance related to loan origination, processing and funding in the branch offices. Serving as the subject matter expert for lending training purposes for branch and lending staff (new hire and ongoing training). Managing the department’s third-party vendor relationships on a daily basis and serving as the primary point of contact. Managing the indirect lending process including timely responses to dealers; following up on underwriting conditions and stipulations needed to complete funding; coordinating loan underwriting; supporting credit union car sales and providing indirect lending services. Managing dealer relationships on a daily basis. Coaching, counseling, performance evaluation, training, and supervision of assigned employees. Assisting in the development of the annual budget and managing the department within the prescribed budgetary guidelines. Constantly striving for process improvement to achieve maximum efficiency. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to five years of consumer and real estate underwriting experience, preferably in a credit union environment. A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school is required. A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Minimum of three years previous management experience including oversight of multiple direct reports. Extensive knowledge of consumer lending (including indirect lending) processes, regulations, compliance and underwriting practices required. General knowledge of mortgage lending (regulations, compliance and underwriting) is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal). Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself with a high level of diplomacy and tact. Pay Range: $106,000 - $132,000; based on skills and experience.
