Job Summary:
The CFO is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, providing leadership in financial planning, reporting, and compliance. This executive will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy to support growth, maximize profitability, and manage risk across our portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in real estate finance, strategic insight, and a hands-on approach to operational and financial challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning
Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s long-term goals, capital requirements, and risk tolerance.
Lead the financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning processes.
Advise the executive team on financial implications of business activities and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
Capital and Investment Management
Manage capital structure, debt financing, and funding strategies to support real estate development projects.
Oversee capital allocation, ensuring that investments are aligned with the company’s strategic priorities.
Develop and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions to secure favorable funding options.
Financial Reporting and Compliance
Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting to meet internal, external, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS) and industry regulations.
Ensure adherence to financial policies, controls, and procedures to safeguard assets and minimize risk.
Risk Management and Compliance
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and market risks associated with real estate development projects.
Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards, including tax, audit, and legal requirements.
Implement robust internal controls and financial policies to protect assets and minimize exposure to risk.
Real Estate Project Financial Oversight
Oversee project financing, budgeting, and cost control for all real estate developments.
Track project cash flow, profitability, and return on investment to maximize value and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to manage budgets and financial expectations for each project.
Leadership and Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance to senior leaders across departments to support informed decision-making on financial matters.
Establish a high-performance culture within the finance department, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and strategic impact.
Monitor HR metrics and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Strategic Growth and Business Development
Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate potential business opportunities, acquisitions, and new market entries.
Contribute to strategic growth initiatives by providing financial insights, due diligence, and modeling for prospective projects.
Partner with the CEO and executive team to set financial and operational goals aligned with corporate strategy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred).
CPA, CFA, or similar certification highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within real estate or real estate development.
In-depth knowledge of real estate finance, project financing, and capital structuring.
Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
Proven experience in overseeing financial reporting, audits, and compliance within a regulated environment.
Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within real estate development projects, including familiarity with construction financing and cost management.
Demonstrated success in capital fundraising, investor relations, and strategic partnerships.
