Position Summary:

The

Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the financial planning and analysis function within our organization. They provide strategic financial guidance and support to the executive team and play a critical role in driving financial performance and decision-making. This role involves leading a team of financial analysts, overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, conducting financial analysis and modeling, and providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and drive business growth. The Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis also collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial goals and overall business objectives. Strong analytical and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of financial planning and analysis principles, are essential for success in this role.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership

Lead the FP&A function to support organizational growth and strategic financial goals.

Partner with executive, functional, and physician leadership to drive long-term financial planning and corporate strategy.

Provide insights on financial implications of strategic decisions, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business goals.

Develop and refine monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, analyzing variances to budget.

Drive continuous improvements in the budgeting and forecasting processes.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

Conduct in-depth financial analysis of business performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.

Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to executive leadership, board members, and PE sponsors.

Manage the creation of financial models to support decision-making and scenario analysis, including capital investments, JV partnerships, and M&A activities, as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Possess a client-service mindset to support departmental leaders in order to drive successful financial outcomes against operational goals and strategic imperatives.

Guide and support cross-functional teams in cost management, revenue generation, and financial best practices.

Bi-directional collaboration with accounting, treasury, and other finance teams to ensure cohesive financial strategies.

Performance Management & KPIs

Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track organizational performance.

Implement tools and processes to assess financial performance and drive accountability across teams.

Establish benchmarking processes to assess and improve financial performance against industry standards.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Identify and develop talent within the FP&A team, building capabilities to support future growth.

Encourage collaboration, innovation, and best practices within the FP&A team and across the finance organization.

Risk Management & Compliance

Ensure compliance with financial policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Identify and manage financial risks, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.

Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and insights.

Technology & Process Optimization

Identify and implement financial systems and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial planning.

Lead process improvements in FP&A activities to drive efficiency, transparency, and data accuracy.

Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in financial planning and analysis, incorporating relevant advancements into the teams practices.

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree and at least twelve (12) years of experience, including some prior management experience.

Experience with Healthcare and specifically Physician-enablement MSO models are preferred.

Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments (or a single business critical function or department).

Leads and directs the work of other employees and is responsible for personnel actions, including hiring, performance management, and termination.

Primarily responsible for strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in alignment with organizational objectives.

Establish departmental policies, practices, and procedures that significantly impact the organization's long-term success.

Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools, such as video conferencing software, instant messaging platforms, and customer relationship management systems.

Compliance with all security and privacy policies and protocols, including safeguarding patient information and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Direct Reports:

This role will have supervisory responsibility, managing a team that may include various roles depending on departmental needs and organizational structure.

Travel:

Must have the ability & willingness to travel to other sites as necessary within a geographic region.

Physical Requirements for the Job:

Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.

Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting.

Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 lbs.
