Full-Time/Regular The Office of Finance and Grants Administration (OFGA) at the Boston University School of Medicine provides centralized, specialized financial and grants management services across twelve departments. With an annual portfolio exceeding $200 million, OFGA supports the financial and administrative needs of research and academic activities. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Financial and Grants Administrator (FGA) will be an integral part of the OFGA team, managing post-award grant activities for a diverse portfolio that includes federal and non-federal grants, Center funds, and discretionary funds. This role ensures compliance with sponsor guidelines, oversees financial reporting, and supports investigators throughout the award lifecycle. Responsibilities: The FGA will: Post-Award Grant Management:
Assist investigators with progress reports, continuing applications, and budgetary requirements while ensuring compliance with sponsor and University guidelines. Monitor expenditures, subcontract spending, and invoicing to advise on the allowability of costs per sponsor requirements. Prepare and coordinate prior approval requests, including effort reductions, re-budgeting, and no-cost extensions. Award Administration:
Facilitate the implementation and management of industry grants, contracts, billing agreements, material transfer agreements, and data use agreements. Generate fund balance and projection reports for investigators and administrative leadership. Process cost transfers and submit salary allocation changes through SAP. Complete project fund closeouts in compliance with sponsor guidelines. Compliance & Liaison Role:
Serve as a liaison between investigators, HR, the Postdoctoral Office, Student Employment Office, Faculty Affairs, and other relevant stakeholders for hiring, onboarding, and other administrative processes. Coordinate the bi-annual investigator time and effort certification process. Training & Development:
Attend meetings and training sessions to stay current on sponsor requirements and University policies. Collaborate with central offices to resolve complex accounting issues as they arise. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience. Highly organized and goal-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively and independently under deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with faculty and staff at all levels. Demonstrated adaptability to new challenges and openness to change. Familiarity with post-award grant management and compliance processes is preferred.
