A law firm in Kansas City, MO, is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will defend and litigate a variety of employment-related claims, provide counsel on labor and employment laws, and demonstrate strong advocacy skills in both courtroom and administrative settings. Duties: Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination. Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in employment matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases. Provide strategic advice and counsel to employers on various labor and employment laws and regulations. Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents. Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery requests, conducting depositions, and preparing witnesses for testimony. Stay informed of labor and employment law developments and communicate implications to clients. Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Excellent academic credentials. Active licenses to practice law in Missouri (MO) and Kansas (KS) in good standing. Minimum of 4+ years of litigation experience, with a strong background in employment law preferred. Familiarity with current court and employment-related agency procedures (state and federal). Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence in legal work. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills. Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork while also being able to work independently on various projects.
