About the Position Harris Health System is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Technologist for Ben Taub Hospital. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The ideal candidate will handle high complexity testing, validate test results, and maintain quality control and instrument upkeep in accordance with established policies. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center.

Requirements Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) OR Certificate of Completion of a Medical Technology Training program OR Associate Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science with ASCP Certification as Medical Technologist MT(ASCP)

Special Requirements:
Communication Skills: Above average verbal (heavy public contact), writing and composing skills (correspondence/reports) Other Skills: Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, Research, Statistical, PC, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access Preferred: Certification by approved certification agencies, i.e., ASCP, NCA, AMT Travel between HCHD facilities may be required.
