About the Position

As a Surgical Technologist with Harris Health System, you will assist the Labor and Delivery surgical team during operative procedures by utilizing proper aseptic technique. You will need current and up-to-date knowledge of equipment, suture, and procedures being performed at the hospital. The Operating Room Tech will prepare the OR and ensure all necessary equipment has been disinfected, assembled, and is in working order. You will also aid in preparing the patient by cleaning, shaving, and disinfecting the area that will be operated on. During surgery, you will pass sterile surgical equipment, cut sutures, operate lights, and help dress wounds as needed while observing the patient's vitals and status. Shift Schedule

High School Diploma or GED Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technology Current CPR Certification Certified as Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing 1 year of experience preferred Benefits
