Application deadline: Monday, January 13, 2025. The City of Northlake, “The Friendly City”, is seeking its next finance director. Northlake is a stable and financially sound local government located just 17 miles from downtown Chicago with a population of 12,840. Responsibilities:

Preparing and monitoring the City’s budget. Overseeing the City’s liability, property and health insurance policies and claims. Overseeing the annual audit. Managing bank reconciliations. Preparing the tax levy. Managing accounts payable and receivables. Handling water billing. Risk management. Accounting, auditing and grant compliance. Personnel, payroll and employee benefits. Information technology. Qualifications:

The City prefers a candidate with: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or a related discipline. At least three years’ experience in finance and accounting management. Experience in the public sector is preferred, which could also include an auditor with municipal experience.
