Application deadline: Monday, January 13, 2025. The City of Northlake, “The Friendly City,” is seeking its next finance director. Northlake is a stable and financially sound local government located just 17 miles from downtown Chicago with a population of 12,840. Responsibilities: Preparing and monitoring the City’s budget. Overseeing the City’s liability, property, and health insurance policies and claims. Overseeing the annual audit. Managing bank reconciliations. Preparing the tax levy, payables, and accounts receivables. Managing water billing and risk management. Ensuring accounting, auditing, and grant compliance. Managing personnel, payroll, and employee benefits. Overseeing information technology. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related discipline. At least three years of experience in finance and accounting management. Experience in the public sector is preferred, including municipal auditing experience.
