The University of Michigan’s Department of Internal Medicine invites applications for the position of Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases.
The division chief is responsible for the academic, clinical, educational and administrative vision, oversight and initiatives of the division. Candidates should have demonstrated scholarly distinction appropriate for a tenure track appointment at the associate professor/professor level and demonstrate capacity for leadership. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversee and expand a robust research operation funded by federal and non-federal grants
Effectively manage a comprehensive multi-site clinical operation
Enhance educational opportunities for medical students, residents, and fellows within the division
Recruit and develop the best and the brightest faculty to enhance and grow the Division’s national reputation
The division chief is paired with a division administrator that fully supports the administrative needs of the division. Together, they will develop a strong and effective working relationship to support the strategic direction of the division.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree at a minimum, and candidates should be, or be qualified to be, licensed in the State of Michigan.
