What You’ll Do
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial principles, and the ability to provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, budgeting, forecasting, and contributing to business growth initiatives. This role involves working closely with senior leadership to influence and improve financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business decisions.
Support for Go-to-Market (GTM) Team:
Provide financial insights and analysis to support the GTM team’s strategic initiatives, including market expansion, product launches, and pricing strategies. Help evaluate sales performance, customer acquisition costs, and marketing ROI to optimize GTM efforts.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts. Collaborate with department heads to gather inputs, ensure alignment with strategic goals, and track performance against budgets.
Financial Modeling:
Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate potential business opportunities, capital expenditures, and long-term strategic planning. Provide scenario analysis to support management in decision-making.
Cost Analysis & Optimization:
Analyze operating costs and identify areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to optimize costs, improve margins, and drive profitability.
Business Case Development:
Prepare business cases for new initiatives, investments, and cost-saving opportunities. Assess the financial viability of projects and provide recommendations based on thorough analysis.
Variance & Trend Analysis:
Conduct detailed variance analysis between actuals vs. budget/forecast, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
Data Interpretation & Communication:
Present financial analysis, results, and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise manner. Use data visualization tools to effectively communicate insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with teams across departments (e.g., Sales, Operations, Marketing) to provide financial support, ensure alignment on objectives, and drive company-wide financial performance.
Process Improvement:
Continuously seek ways to improve financial processes and reporting tools. Implement automation or system improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Experience in high-growth, venture-backed startups is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.), experience with financial software (e.g., Netsuite, Quickbooks), strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL).
Key Competencies:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail; excellent problem-solving abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; strong communication and presentation skills; team player with the ability to influence and work across departments; ability to think strategically and see the big picture while managing details.
