Position Summary:
Walmart Commerce Technologies’ mission is to enable businesses worldwide to better serve their customers with technologies and SaaS solutions powered by Walmart. Our team was established in 2022 and we are transforming scaled Walmart technologies into white-label offerings for other retailers and sellers. We’ve launched Store Assist, a mobile-first store fulfillment application, and are accelerating our pipeline of future products.
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Walmart Commerce Technologies team, you will have the unique opportunity to commercialize mature enterprise systems and enable them for a whole industry of retailers. You will be building a new Retail Media SaaS business and product and ensure operational and engineering excellence.

What you'll do:
Design and transform an existing internal system into a SaaS product.
Make key technology decisions that will enable long-term success.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions to improve the product.
Provide technical leadership for other engineers and set best practices as we grow our team.
Understand the entire system end to end and break down complex tasks for the team.
Diagnose and resolve system and reliability issues.
Participate in building out the engineering team by conducting technical interviews.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience in software engineering.
Expertise in working with technologies such as Java, Spring, React, NodeJS, SQL Databases.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience working with large scale systems and event-driven architectures.
Strong communications and collaboration skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
