Role overview: We are seeking a Staff level Engineer with 10+ years of experience to help own the ongoing evolution of PlayStation’s Global Financial Reporting Systems, with a strong focus on building event-driven architectures. While this position is part of enterprise architecture, your initial focus will be on delivering scalable solutions for PlayStation’s finance systems, with significant growth potential to expand into other areas across the business, driving efficiency and innovation. What you will be doing:

Building out enterprise architecture, connecting frontend applications and tooling to backend IT infrastructure. Architect, develop, and maintain event-driven microservices to process high volumes of financial and other data in real-time.

Event Driven Architecture primarily based on Apache Kafka (AWS MSK) Microservices development using Golang. Cloud (AWS) architecture services (EC2, ECR, S3, EFS, MSK, Lambda)

Establish global, enterprise-level event pipelines that can scale to financial reporting demands and beyond, supporting multiple teams and business needs across the organization. Collaborate with many teams spanning engineering, product management, finance, and more to create resilient systems for revenue reconciliation, credit card settlements, and subscription management. Explore new innovative solutions using AI/ML to automate and streamline manual finance tasks such as reconciliations, reporting, and forecasting, driving innovation within finance operations. Design and deploy real-time data pipelines with streaming tools such as Kafka to enable automated decision-making within the enterprise. Improve and optimize financial data models to ensure compatibility with tax, compliance, and other business requirements while maintaining high performance. Champion the integration of microservices into other financial applications and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and growth opportunities across the enterprise. What we are looking for:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is highly preferred. 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a Senior or Staff role, specializing in event-driven architectures and distributed systems. Expertise in Golang or similar languages and building microservices that handle large-scale, real-time data processing. Capability to automate financial processes such as payment settlements and reconciliation, revenue recognition, and royalties, with consideration of how to extend similar solutions to non-financial systems. Proficiency in SQL and data modeling with a wide variety of databases. Nice to have experience with additional reporting databases such as Oracle and Snowflake. Experience working with cloud platforms, including managing hybrid cloud/on-prem environments in AWS. Motivated as an independent contributor but enjoys working as a team to maintain accountability of outcomes in building scalable, enterprise-wide solutions. Proficiency with the following tools (or similar):

Issue Tracking (e.g. JIRA, Service Now) Collaboration (e.g. Confluence, Trello) Communication (e.g. Slack, Teams, Skype for Business) Version Control (e.g. Github) Automation (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform)

Ability to adhere to governance standards within controlled/compliance-based environments (particularly Sarbanes Oxley). Extensive experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). You should be proficient in automating build, test, and deployment processes using modern CI/CD tools and platforms (e.g. Github Actions, Jenkins, etc). The large-scale event pipelines you’ll build will be leveraged across multiple areas of the business, offering exciting challenges and growth in various domains such as e-commerce, customer analytics, and content management.
