Job Summary Tenure-track position in Children's, Youth, and Family Ministry at Bethel Seminary St. Paul. Academic rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities Lead the Master of Arts in Children's, Youth, and Family Ministries (MACYFM) program, including recruiting, mentoring, and providing pastoral care to students, representing the program internally and to external partners and constituents, and casting a vision for program innovation to ensure continued excellence. Teach four courses (or equivalent) in children's, youth, and family ministry per academic year in both in-person (intensive) and online delivery systems. Participate in faculty meetings, mentoring of students, and committee work.
Skills Candidates should be capable of inspiring teaching, scholarship, and service to the university. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to engage students actively and contribute to an intercultural learning community both in a classroom and online. Candidates should be eager to lead and teach in the children's, youth, and family ministry program and collaborate with seminary colleagues in pursuing the seminary mission and integrative approach. Candidates should have skills allowing them to be effective at the administration of an academic program. Candidates must agree with the Bethel University Affirmation of Faith and live by the Covenant for Life Together. Candidates are expected to become members of a Converge Church.
Experience The ideal candidate will have experience in professional ministry in children's, youth, and family ministry, success in instruction of children's, youth, and family ministry, ministry leadership (including developing and articulating ministry vision), and relevant intercultural experience. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively administer this program.
Education Doctoral degree in children's, youth, and family ministry or closely related field. (Strong candidates who are ABD may be considered.) Ministry or Bible related master's degree required; MDiv preferred.
