The
Director, Hydraulic Modeling
provides hydraulic modeling and technical support to ensure the safe, consistent, and efficient maintenance and operation of pipelines and facilities. Resources under the Director support the integrity, corrosion, commercial, operations, well connect, electrical, civil, measurement and rotating equipment needs of the gathering systems, pipelines, booster stations, plants and terminals in all Midstream Operations. The Hydraulic Modeling organization develops and maintains all hydraulic models for both liquids and gas pipelines and is actively involved in optimization efforts, capital projects, operation limits and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities May Include: •Promoting a culture that delivers excellent HSE performance. •Providing hydraulic modeling and technical resource to support commercial, capital projects, field operation and regulatory compliance. Allocate workload and distribute hydraulic modeling and optimization requests among Hydraulic Modeling & Optimization Engineering team, including rare after-hours emergency requests as needed. •Coordinating and working together with the other Operations and Regulatory leaders on the compliance requirements for all pipeline systems. •Coordinating with Business Development, Commercial and Well Connects for Growth and optimization opportunities. •Supervising the Hydraulic Modeling Engineers. Manage team resources including hardware resources, software selection, licensing, and distribution. •Supporting incident and near miss investigations and allocate resources if needed •Supporting full compliance with all regulatory and Company policies and procedures associated with pipeline operations. •Supervising, coaching, mentoring, developing training and appraising and developing subordinates. •Interfacing with Region operations, Commercial, Business Development, Joint Ventures, and Logistics. •Supporting multiple Joint Ventures needs for development and updates of capital budgets. •Providing guidance to Operations and 3rd party engineering firms regarding model configuration and operating scenarios •Applying expertise in pipeline Drag Reducing Agents (DRA) use to evaluate asset optimization and improvement requests •Analyze and develop model scenarios to implement in simulations to address business questions, support growth initiatives, and provide results useful for economic analysis •Leading a team or participating as a team member to evaluate, develop, and implement pipeline optimization and operational strategies for the organization. Evaluate projects for system optimization and develop project justification for equipment changes and replacement. •Management of the overall pipeline Drag Reducing Agents (DRA) program, including equipment installation, equipment maintenance, equipment replacement, vendor communications, product usage forecasts, etc. •Leverage relationships with industry peers and vendors through leading or participating in industry interest groups to remain up to date on regulation, technology, and software/tool options in the energy management and hydraulic modeling subject matter areas. Leverage industry knowledge to negotiate beneficial energy contract terms and select optimal energy tariffs. •Developing and implementing tools for Field Operations, Scheduling, and Control Center operations to minimize operating costs and improve overall asset optimization.
Required: •Legally authorized to work in the job posting country •Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering •7 or more years of experience in petroleum pipeline, gas gathering and transmission, terminal operations or related industry •3 or more years of experience in leadership roles •5 or more years of experience with compression system design and optimization •Intermediate level or proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Preferred: •5 or more years of experience in pipeline maintenance, operations, and pipeline projects •5 or more years of experience with pipeline hydraulics •5 or more years of supervisory experience •Intermediate level of proficiency with SAP

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
