The Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting. This includes managing the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee the accounting and finance functions for six different legal entities encompassing businesses in marketing, media, events, real estate brokerage, adventure travel, and bucking bull investors Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and present detailed reports to upper management Lead annual budgeting process for multiple departments, aligning financial plans with organizational goals Develop and implement forecasting models to aid in strategic decision-making and long-term planning Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, optimizing cash flow and vendor relationships Prepare data for audits and tax returns to ensure compliance with all regulations Manage payroll processing, including the calculation and distribution of commissions and other compensation Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies Supervise and develop the accounting team Coordinate with CPA on tax preparation, filings and audits as required Desired Skills:
Budgeting and Forecasting QuickBooks Experience required Financial & Variance Analysis Account Reconciliations Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Controller or senior-level role Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and regulatory compliance Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Experience with accounting software and data analysis tools Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
