Insight Global is looking for a Data Governance Consultant to join a world-renowned data and cloud computing corporation. This individual will design, implement, and oversee data governance strategies that enhance data quality, security, and regulatory compliance across the organization. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain robust data governance practices, collaborating with stakeholders to create a culture of accountability and trust in data. This role requires a deep understanding of data governance frameworks, data management, and privacy regulations to ensure that data assets are organized, accessible, and safeguarded to support critical business decisions. Key Responsibilities: •Develop, implement, and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards. •Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, data owners, business units, and compliance, to define and assign data stewardship roles. •Drive data quality initiatives, including data profiling, data cleansing, validation, and continuous improvement of data accuracy and consistency. •Establish and manage a data catalog, including metadata management, data lineage, and classification to improve data discoverability and usability. •Monitor compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ensure that data handling practices meet regulatory requirements. •Provide guidance on data governance best practices and deliver training sessions to foster a culture of data stewardship. •Conduct data governance assessments and maturity evaluations, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Compensation: $45/hr to $52/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience •3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles, preferably within large, complex organizations. •Strong expertise in data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica), and methodologies. •In-depth knowledge of data privacy laws and compliance regulations, with hands-on experience in implementing data privacy best practices. •Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and guide non-technical stakeholders in data governance principles. •Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities, capable of translating business requirements into practical data governance solutions. •Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field; a masters degree is a plus. •Must be local to NYC and able to go onsite 3x/week
