Overview:
Responsible for Functional Safety full software life cycle development meeting scope, budget, schedule and quality requirements for PASAs software product line/products. Provides direction to on-shore and off-shore development teams to develop new features, debug defects and write unit level test frameworks and test cases. Utilizes strong project management skills including planning, tracking to that plan, and communicating status to both internal and external customers. Responsibilities: YOUR MISSION: Responsible for Functional Safety full software life cycle development meeting scope, budget, schedule and quality requirements for PASAs software product line/products. Provides direction to on-shore and off-shore development teams to develop new features, debug defects and write unit level test frameworks and test cases. Utilizes strong project management skills including planning, tracking to that plan, and communicating status to both internal and external customers. A DAY IN THE LIFE: Leads and/or participates in meetings between PASA, suppliers, and PASAs customers for design reviews and to track project status and communicates with team and management regarding development activities, project schedule, cost, monthly budget forecasting updates, issues, and risks. Coordinates functional safety software development activities with the Functional Safety manager, SW architect, other software teams and collaborates with engineering teams to analyze requirements, designs and maintains Functional Safety features for infotainment projects with on-time and high-quality deliverables to multiple customers. Responsible for software project planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, launching and maintenance. Knowledgeable in ISO26262 Automotive Functional Safety standards, processes and tools. Reviews systems and software functional safety requirements in automotive head units, reviews feasibility, and resolves specification open issues with systems engineering and/or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Collaborates with the Functional Safety manager to translate systems safety requirements into software functional safety requirements, utilizing the necessary tools. Knowledgeable in translating Automotive infotainment products SOC and/or boot micro functional safety technical reference manuals into software functional safety interfaces. Coordinates with suppliers to analyze functional safety requirements and develops interfaces to other modules. Evaluates new software releases from suppliers to ensure they meet acceptance criteria. MUST-HAVES: Four-year College Degree in at least one STEM major (Science; Technology; Engineering; Math) and a minimum of five (5) years of experience; or a minimum of ten (10) years of full life cycle embedded software development in electronics products. Minimum two (2) years leading a team of software engineers with a formal development process such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, or Extreme Programming. Experience in designing, developing and debugging functional safety software in a real-time embedded environment. Working knowledge of integrating or developing an integration framework using any one of the following or equivalent tools: Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, BOUML, or other Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling tools. Working knowledge of high-end embedded Real-Time Operating System (RTOS)s such as Linux, Android, etc. Working knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SCM) systems. Working knowledge of a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Working knowledge of ISO26262 Automotive Functional Safety standards processes and tools. Experience working in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Windows-based databases.
