Summary

The Accounting Manager for the PlayCore Online Businessesis a member of the Divisional Accounting and Finance team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance in the coordination and timely month-end close and filing of financial statements, and will be based out of Chattanooga, TN.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
  2. Maintain the general ledger system and chart of accounts.
  3. Prepare monthly comparative financial analyses for management's review.
  4. Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  5. Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for all departments.
  6. Supervise the processing of accounts payable, preparing accruals and reconciling to the general ledger
  7. Supervise the processing of accounts receivables and reconciling to the general ledger, including assistance with collection efforts
  8. Supervise the processing of inventory and reconciling to the general ledger
  9. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
  10. Assist with year-end audit.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Minimum 5 years' experience in managerial accounting. Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Financial Statement preparation and consolidations. Experience with multi-division manufacturer preferred. MBA and/or CPA preferred. Candidate must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and with a mid-tier financial ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics preferred). Candidate must be analytically minded and detail oriented.
Travel
  • The Accounting Manager will travel to the business units from time to time to assist with financials, audits, research and implementation of process improvements, and other projects as needed.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Candidate must be able to effectively and professionally communicate in both written correspondences and verbally over the phone.
Reasoning Ability
  • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to plan and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a timely manner.
Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
