Stadium Operations Intern

OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist Stadium Operations Manager with day-to-day stadium and auxiliary maintenance
  • Daily stadium clean-up responsibilities
  • Manage post-game trash pick and stadium blow down
  • Mowing (non-field) and weed eating concourse/sidewalks
  • Cleaning & upkeep of operations equipment and stadium infrastructure
  • Cooperatively execute setup/teardown/plans of action for non-baseball events at The Steelyard
  • Assist other ballpark departments on high traffic games/openings
  • Perform in-game duties with promotional team/Groundskeeper as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
  • Excited to work in a professional sports environment
  • Participate in Fan and Community engagement opportunities
  • Assist with stadium cleanliness
  • Assist Front Office staff and Interns in other ballpark departments
  • Assist with all tarp pulls - which may include non-game days, weekends and or holidays
  • Adhere to all uniform requirements and applicable team policies
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Undergraduate or post-graduate student attending accredited university, or recent graduate
  • Housing in NW Indiana or NE Illinois area - Required
  • Able to earn college credit for internship - No Exceptions
  • Able to commit to entire internship period, from May until early September
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Comfortable walking/standing for long periods of time, including during events
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in group settings
  • Highly motivated individual with strong work ethic & organizational skills for multiple tasks
  • Strong desire to work in a team environment with a passion for sports
