Surgical Technologist - Operating Room

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room (OR) team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency with DaVinci robotics, experience in a variety of surgical specialties, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed. The Surgical Technologist will play a critical role in preparing the operating room, assisting during surgeries, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are ready. Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control standards. Stock surgery supplies and maintain inventory to ensure the operating room is fully equipped. Prepare patients for surgery by disinfecting incision sites and ensuring proper positioning. Assist in surgeries by passing instruments and supplies to the surgical team, including the surgeon, surgical assistants, and nurses. Track surgical supplies during procedures, ensuring the proper instruments and materials are readily available. Stay up to date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures to support the surgical team effectively. Work collaboratively with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and other OR team members to provide exceptional patient care. Assist with patient positioning, draping, and wound care during and after surgery. Perform other duties as assigned to support the surgical team and patient care initiatives.

Required Qualifications: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification through NBSTSA or NCCT. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (American Heart Association only). Proficiency in Da Vinci Robotics (required). Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in the operating room.

Experience in one or more of the following specialties: Open vascular/endovascular surgery, Thoracic surgery (including thoracic robotics), General surgery, Transplant, trauma, and neuro surgeries. Travel experience preferred. Ability to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as required. Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control standards. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively support surgeons and the surgical team.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel experience as a Surgical Technologist. Specialized experience in Da Vinci robotic surgery. Additional certifications or training in advanced surgical technologies.

Credentials Required: Updated Resume. NBSTSA or NCCT Certification. BLS (AHA only). COVID vaccine copy. Two References (from a manager or supervisor).
