As we celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we seek to expand our reach and impact and we are seeking to fill the newly created role of Senior Director - Development reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, to spearhead our fundraising initiatives and drive our mission forward.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this newly created position will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive development strategy that enhances NCVC's funding footprint, particularly through private foundations and individual donors. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in cultivating and securing significant philanthropic support. The Senior Director will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and program staff to advance the organization's fundraising goals and foster strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to diversify funding sources and increase revenue, with a focus on private foundations and individual giving. Routinely reports to the Chief Executive Officer to provide reports on efforts and to create outreach plans. • Works with Center Directors and Senior Leadership to set goals and objectives for newly emerging programs or for expanding existing program funding. • Represents the organization to various audiences, including individual donors, corporate funders, policymakers, government agencies, advocacy, and victims' rights groups. • Collaborates with the Chief Communications Officer to ensure program deliverables are met and production deadlines/deliverables are on target. • Assists the Chief Executive Officer in identifying and securingKey Responsibilities: • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to diversify funding sources and increase revenue, with a focus on private foundations and individual giving. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent level of experience, and training. • 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or related fields, with a demonstrated track record of securing major gifts and grants. At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a leadership role • Proven expertise in cultivating and soliciting gifts from private foundations and individual donors. • Demonstrated understanding of fundraising principles, practices, and donor stewardship. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally. • Experience in developing and managing budgets for fundraising initiatives. • Proficiency in fundraising software and donor management systems.
