POSITION SUMMARY The Grants Manager is responsible for a portfolio of agreements and works closely with program staff to execute the full agreement lifecycle of grants and contracts for both the Bainum Family Foundation and the Children’s Equity Fund (CEF). This role is critical in ensuring effective operations within the Grants and Contracts Management (GCM) team by optimizing policies and procedures for grant and contract management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Grants & Contract Management Coordinates with the Director of Grants Management and relevant program staff to manage grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with project requirements and organizational policies. Serves as a key contact for partner inquiries regarding agreements and technical assistance. Takes a leadership role in maintaining accountability for partner and consulting contracts and grant agreements. Supports the evaluation and consistent execution of Grants and Contracts Management policies. Develops knowledge of Fluxx, our grants management system, to support stakeholders. Participates actively in team meetings and leads trainings as necessary. Reviews reports for completeness and coordinates programmatic analysis for payments. Collaborates with the Finance team to track financial disbursements and ensures compliance with procedures. Maintains documentation for grants, contracts, and other agreements. Assists in audit preparation as needed. Partner Due Diligence, Onboarding and Technical Assistance Works with program staff to develop grant and contract timelines for the fiscal year. Facilitates partner onboarding and supports the application process. Partners with program teams to draft SOW, budgets, and ensure compliance with policies. Manages agreements, modifications, and closeouts, providing guidance to partners. Knowledge Management, Learning and Evaluation Optimizes Fluxx functionality for funding and knowledge management. Ensures data integrity and accuracy in Fluxx. Supports training for staff on GCM policies and processes. Collaboration and Leadership Facilitates communication among organization teams. Leads meetings to improve processes and produce collaborative work products. Participates actively in staff meetings and cross-departmental teams. Maintains best practices by attending relevant workshops and conferences. FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred. Three to five years of experience in grants management or operations in a nonprofit or philanthropic setting preferred. Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a college level. Ability to complete projects accurately and within deadlines. Experience using a grants management system or database; Fluxx experience preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee may regularly be required to talk and listen, frequently sit and use their hands, and occasionally stand and walk. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is designated as “Local,” requiring regular commutes to the Washington, D.C. Central Workplace. Telework requires reliable internet access. The Foundation provides necessary equipment for remote work.
