Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Finance to lead our financial operations and support ambitious growth plans. This executive role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with our client’s goals, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability; accounting, audit, reporting, analysis, third-party lenders; legal; customer/vendor contracting; budgeting process; risk management. Budgeting and Forecasting:
Oversee the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team. Directly responsible for FP&A, conducting financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges, and providing actionable recommendations. Financial Reporting:
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as performance metrics. Leadership: Be a trusted and valued business partner to the CEO and functional leaders. Cash Flow Management:
Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the company’s financial health and operational stability. Team Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, managing financial risks effectively. Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Financial Systems:
Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred. 10+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role as head of finance or secondary finance leader for a high-growth, fast-paced healthcare SaaS or Vertical SaaS provider, with a strong preference for experience in Healthcare EMR, Practice Management, or Workflow solutions. Experience with companies backed by institutional investors is required. Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices within SaaS/recurring revenue business models. Proven ability to be a valued and trusted business partner to the CEO and functional leaders. Experience working across departments to provide financial insights, recommendations, and accountability. Proven track record in strategic financial planning and analysis, with a focus on driving growth and profitability. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a finance team and manage internal stakeholder relationships with a roll-up-the-sleeves style. Strong FP&A skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach. Hands-on manager comfortable in a lean staffing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with healthcare medical revenue cycle management. Success in evaluating and implementing financial systems (e.g., customer invoicing, accounting, forecasting). Demonstrated experience obtaining and managing bank debt. Proven ability to increase shareholder value and assist in prioritizing business initiatives and strategies. Experience overseeing legal and compliance activities. Experience scaling and selling a business. Acquisition and due diligence experience is a plus. Certified Public Accounting license.
