Apple is looking for a collaborative, self-motivated EHS professional to support our Corporate & Retail functions. You will have in-depth technical expertise and experience managing due diligence in support of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and real estate transactions.
Description
Drive completion of EHS due diligence in support of a variety of transactions, including retail and corporate real estate deals, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and investments.
Manage outside consultants and vendors to drive completion of due diligence projects.
Ensure early recognition and assessment of key EHS due diligence findings and articulate the business and technical implications of such findings to management and the project teams.
Act as the subject matter expert for EHS in preparing and negotiating agreements and liability and cost-sharing arrangements with external transaction partners.
Cultivate and maintain collaborative working relationships with various cross-functional teams.
Evaluate and provide support related to EHS program development and implementation at existing sites, new facilities, and expansions, including, but not limited to; soil and groundwater management, vapor intrusion, hazardous building materials management, seismic upgrades, fire and life safety, occupational exposure, chemical management tool/process ventilation, water supply, spill prevention and control, etc.
Partner with EHS site leads to integrate corporate EHS policy into local facility operations and transition the management of EHS programs, permits, and projects to the EHS operations team.
Lead EHS due diligence record keeping, document control, and program documentation.
Support corporate EHS initiatives, including EHS metrics and periodic activity updates. Moderate travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of EHS or related experience
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field
Experience in developing, maintaining, and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materials
Experience handling or executing EHS due diligence assessments, including Phase I and Phase II site assessments, and limited compliance assessments
Key Qualifications
Masters Degree in a science or related field preferred
5-10% domestic & international travel
Extensive project management experience including the ability to budget, plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities for multiple projects at one time & reprioritize daily
Understand business concepts and have the ability to communicate to leadership the material findings of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and real estate transactions
Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills, ability to effectively influence peers and management
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and management to develop strategic direction for EH&S related projects, program development, and/or litigation support
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated; a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
In-depth technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Hazardous building materials management, soil and groundwater management and remediation, vapor intrusion evaluation, mitigation and remediation, chemical and materials management, EHS permitting, industrial hygiene, occupational health, fire and life safety systems, emergency response, seismic assessments
