This is a fantastic opportunity for a Electrical Engineer to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.
Primary deliverables of this project:
- Facility Start-Up:
- Support design reviews and ensure power distribution systems meet project specifications and operational requirements.
- Conduct process safety assessments and participate in commissioning and qualification activities (C&Q).
- Define user requirements and oversee the operational readiness of electrical systems, including SOP development, maintenance strategy, and pre-startup safety reviews.
- Provide expertise in alarm requirements, performance qualification protocols, and initial operations training as the subject matter expert for electrical equipment.
- Design and Engineering Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design and integration of site-wide power distribution systems, including high- and low-voltage networks, switchgear, transformers, and backup power systems.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and operational standards, including energy efficiency and reliability goals.
- Collaborate with the design team to optimize layouts for electrical equipment and utilities within the facility.
- Review and approve technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical specifications for equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend innovative electrical solutions to enhance system reliability and scalability.
- Facility Operations:
- Monitor, assess, and document electrical equipment performance to maintain qualification standards.
- Develop and maintain the basis of safety for electrical systems and equipment.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and execute calibration, testing, and routine maintenance activities.
Must Have Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design or manufacturing operations, with a focus on power distribution systems.
- Experience in high- and low-voltage electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, and UPS systems.
- Proven ability to support commissioning and qualification (C&Q) activities for large-scale manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards for electrical systems in industrial or GMP environments.
Nice to Have Experience:
- Experience with API manufacturing or other large-scale chemical or pharmaceutical production facilities.
- Familiarity with process safety assessments and electrical hazard mitigation.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient electrical system design and renewable energy integration.
- Hands-on experience with electrical control systems and automation integration.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
