Default Quality Specialist II

The Default Quality Specialist is responsible for reviewing supporting invoices, breakdowns, ledgers, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and loss mitigation relevant documents based on a specific claim or workout type in a timely and efficient manner and documenting errors as necessary to maintain the quality of the Claims and Loss Mitigation filing process. This position is responsible for adhering to all guidelines set forth by insurer, investor, and master servicing guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Cross Functional Default Quality Specialist trained in multiple areas of the work-streams in a specific Default Operations department
  • Complies with and have working knowledge of all FNMA, FHLMC, PMI, FHA, VA, investor and master servicer rules and regulations
  • Performs regular reviews of all cases/claims/documents on a regular basis
  • Assists in the training of new employees
  • Assists Specialists in designated department in resolving basic issues related to general insurer and investor guidelines
  • Takes part in Calibration sessions as SME for assigned team
  • Helps to resolve questions of Default Quality Specialist I
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar's reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, investigation practices, or related field preferred
  • Default Mortgage Loan Servicing experience required
  • Basic accounting background /excellent aptitude for mathematics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to successfully manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • 2 years experience in filing investor/ insurer claims / Loss Mitigation
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and software applications
