The Senior Property Accountant will prepare and review general ledger, rent roll, bank accounts, quarterly forecast, and annual budgets for properties and operating units. This individual will be responsible for accuracy of the Company's financial statements and reports, assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes, and other special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:

Tenant lease administration related to property accounting including tenant lease setup in the Yardi system and rent roll reconciliations. Prepare CAM estimates and reconciliations. Prepare journal vouchers, accounts payable/receivable vouchers, and tenant adjustments. Prepare mortgage vouchers, reconcile lender statements, and prepare related journal entries. Prepare/update various amortization schedules and prepare related journal entries. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes including preparation of general ledger entries, closing of all general ledgers, and account reconciliations. Prepare monthly financial statements and special purpose financial statements. Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual property and operating unit work paper binders, including any required consolidations or reports, various account reconciliations, and variance analyses. Prepare quarterly property and operating unit forecast. Prepare property quarterly reports and manage report schedules to ensure timeliness of the reports. Prepare annual property and operating unit budgets and assist the property groups with the coordination of the annual budget process. Assist in the implementation of policy and reporting procedures. Provide back-up for other accounting staff during absences and busy times. Other related duties and special projects as assigned. Experience, training, skills required:

A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting/financial reporting, preferably in a multi-entity environment. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Advanced Excel spreadsheet experience, as well as other MS Office applications. Real estate or property management experience preferred. Yardi software experience a plus. Organized, analytical, detail oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team player with strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, and ability to work cooperatively across departmental line. Flexibility to change work assignments and priorities at a moment's notice. Education:

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting/finance. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:
