This is a role for a highly motivated individual that excels at working with others to resolve Quality hurdles having a direct impact on the development of process and business controls. The Quality Engineer represents the voice of the customer listening to the voice of the process to ensure customer requirements/expectations are achieved. At Bergstrom, Quality Engineers have an active role influencing business performance and supervising their direct team. \ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\ \ - - Responsible for interpreting and ensuring compliance to internal and external specifications/standards. {=html} - - Functions as the principal voice of the customer, communicating customer performance, expectations and working with teams to resolve issues of concern. {=html} - - Provides statistical process analysis including the initiation and facilitation of measurement system analysis and where applicable, SPC. {=html} - - Participates in identification and validation of new inspection, measurement or test equipment. {=html} - - Participates in the development, review, and revision of production processes, including disposition of production readiness. {=html} - - Coordinates/participates in internal, customer, and third-party audits. {=html} - - Facilitates teams with root cause analysis and corrective action development. {=html} - - Establishes relationships with customers to ensure a high level of support and responsiveness. {=html} - - Participates in new product development, including design specification review, risk assessment, determining inspection methods, measurement system and capability studies, developing control plans, {=html} - - Prepares and submits PPAP documentation. {=html} - - Coordinates and participates in continuous improvement activities. {=html} - Provides mentorship to Quality Technicians and Inspectors. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Light to Medium physical effort may be required. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility to follow established procedures. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: REQUIRED: \ \ - - STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES \ \ - - - General Concepts (sampling, distributions, etc.) {=html} - - - Calculations (CpK, PpK, PPM, etc.) {=html} - - Initiation, management of Statistical Process Controls Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) AIAG Core Tools (APQP, MSA, PPAP, SPC, FMEA) Engineering Drawing Interpretation (practical application, GD&T). Statical Process Control and Validation (SPC & MSA). Inspection Concepts, Techniques and Processes (use of tools and equipment). QUALITY AUDITS Audit Types Audit Components Tools and Techniques PREVENTIVE AND CORRECTIVE ACTION Corrective Action Types (8D, A3, etc.) Root cause identification tools (fishbone diagram, 5 why, etc.) Knowledge of basic computer skills for data entry and to operate testing equipment. Ability to read and comprehend work instructions utilized to assemble HVAC units. Ability to properly complete/audit assembly related documentation including First Piece Inspection For , deviations, quality alerts and red tag process. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. PREFERRED: - - Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO/TS) and customer quality systems. {=html} - ASQ, CQE MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: \ \ - - Bachelors degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Quality Assurance or a related field. {=html} - - Or a minimum of 5 years experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
