Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in San Diego, CA is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney specializing in Emerging Companies and Venture Capital (ECVC). This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on sophisticated legal matters, particularly in supporting high-growth companies throughout their lifecycle. The associate will have the chance to engage directly with clients and work on a variety of projects, including business formation, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
Duties:
- Handle venture capital financings and provide legal support for start-up clients.
- Manage and advise on M&A transactions and other complex corporate matters.
- Cultivate and manage strong day-to-day relationships with clients.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to support the development of client businesses from inception through various growth stages.
- Provide legal advice and guidance across a broad range of industries such as software, healthcare, financial services, digital media, and alternative energy.
- Ensure high-level attention to detail on all legal documentation and contracts.
- Balance multiple projects and deadlines while operating in a fast-paced legal environment.
Requirements:
- 3-6 years of legal experience at a prominent national law firm.
- Proficiency in venture capital financings and start-up-related work.
- Significant experience in handling mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong ability to manage client relationships and communicate effectively.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admission to the California or New York State Bar.
Skills:
