Job Description


Note: This is a full-time, in-person term limited position running thru September 30, 2029


The Administrative and Grants Manager for Access/VSA will support the management, administration, and compliance of grants, subawards, and contracts within the Office of Accessibility and VSA. This position will manage a diverse portfolio of grants, ensuring effective fund usage, timely report submissions, and compliance with requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and be passionate about ensuring equitable access for individuals with disabilities.


Key Responsibilities


Overall Responsibilities:


  • Documentation, data collection, writing and preparation of all reports; establishing, implementing and communicating protocols for monitoring compliance requirements; ensuring accurate and timely management of revenue and expenses; closing out obligations at the end of the grant period.
  • Coordinate with the Kennedy Center Budget, Finance, and Development offices.

Grants and Financial Administration:


  • Manage a diverse portfolio of grants, subawards, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and funder requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial and narrative reports for stakeholders.
  • Collect and maintain required data for impact analysis and compliance.
  • Monitor budget management and assist with budget modifications.
  • Draft and process award agreements and monitor compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Assist in preparing for external audits and ensure documentation is in place.

Collaboration and Support:


  • Work closely with colleagues in the Access/VSA office and across divisions to coordinate grant management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of grant administration protocols.
  • Prepare and review reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with grantors and attend meetings as necessary.

Key Qualifications


  • At least 3+ years of experience in grant management, including federal grant compliance.
  • An MA, BA/BS or associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge related to accounting and fiscal management.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit business operations and experience in cultural and performing arts administration is desired.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems such as Sage or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of accessibility for people with disabilities is highly desired.

Additional Information


This position is primarily office-based but requires frequent interaction with the public. The work environment is collaborative, with regular interaction with both internal teams and external partners. Travel up to 5% may be required.
