In this exciting role as a Buyer/Planner, you will have responsibility for MRP accuracy, purchase planning and execution, PO maintenance, and raw material inventory. This includes placing Purchase Orders for raw materials (including Kanban agreements), raising call up, negotiating timely delivery for ensuring cost-effective acquisition of quality materials, checking validating BOM for Buy material, and inventory analytics to reduce unhealthy inventory. This position leads and works in a collaborative environment with Production planning, Manufacturing, Commodity Management, Supplier Quality, and Supplier Management. On-site Buyer/Planner for purchasing and planning support. Own raw material purchasing, material planning, and production planning activities. Responsibilities

Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory process. Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules. In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. May monitor performance of suppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning. Understand, validate, correct, and act on Material Requirement planning (MRP) and its messages. Get BOM, yields corrected to ensure MRP signal is right. Actively manages raw material inventory – analyzing it, reducing unhealthy inventory to exceed inventory goals while supporting material requirements for production. Maintain PO for dates and quantity to remain current and drive excellence in Supplier OTIF. Represent Purchasing in Manufacturing, Operations Scheduling, and other daily Tier meetings. Very close coordination with supplier as well as Manufacturing to ensure there are no line downs due to Material. Place timely purchase orders, expedite material, and resolve payment issues with suppliers. Partners with Commodity Management/Supply Management on supplier Value Stream, Capacity Planning, supplier issues/delays, and Business continuity assessment. Proactively escalate any supplier issues, getting buy-in from cross-functional team to ensure risk (of line down) are mitigated. Partners with Sourcing Engineer to resolve supplier issue of Quality, capacity, and lead time. Participates in cross-functional projects involving Supply Chain, Sector, and/or corporate initiatives that ensure business objectives are met. Ensure compliance with procedures and represent purchasing in audits. Support in production planning activities. Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience. Nice to Have

Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (strong preference for QAD and SAP). Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software. Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes. Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics. Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals. Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices. Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical). APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience. Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.). Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training). Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $64,000.00 - $96,000.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
