Position Overview Pantheon Data has a need for a Database Administrator with experience supporting applications and databases running in AWS cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have good experience in AWS Cloud and DB2 administration. Experience with AIX and IBM WebSphere Application Server will be a plus. This Senior Database Administrator has an important role in the strategic migration of large legacy applications to AWS GovCloud for our federal clients. Key responsibilities include database configuration, migration, modernization, Security and operational monitoring. Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and validation of legacy enterprise database migrations from on-premises environments to AWS GovCloud. Manage and maintain DB2 databases running on EC2 instances, ensuring high availability, performance and security. Ensure database security by implementing and maintaining access controls, encryption, and compliance with relevant regulations. Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate database management tasks. Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and migration of applications. Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restoration, and database migrations. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as performance and connectivity issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams. Stay current with the latest database technologies and best practices. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Minimum of 10 years' experience performing database administration and IT systems support. Proficiency in DB2 database administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Familiarity with IBM WebSphere Application Server and related database support. Knowledge of AIX operating systems and DB2 database migration strategies to AWS. Experience with database design, configuration, performance tuning, security management, and backup and recovery. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex, multi-disciplinary security challenges in cloud environments. Preferred Skills and Experience AWS Certified Database - Specialty certification. Knowledge of database automation and scripting tools, such as PowerShell/Python. Experience using database design, monitoring, and performance tuning tools. Familiarity with IBM Content Manager. Experience supporting DoD and/or federal government clients. Current Secret clearance. Clearance Requirements U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Work Location United States - Remote Compensation The salary range for this position is $102,000 - $128,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
